The Sunshine Coast stretches 80 to 140km north of Brisbane, most of it's famous spots are located next to river mouths providing a wide variation of conditions from wave to flat water.
One of the major advantage is the river current itself, since it's velocity can add up to the wind speed (depending on tidal flow and wind direction). Allowing the skilled rider to kite those spots at pretty low wind speeds where other spots don't work anymore.
